A guest under a beach umbrella orders from her phone, beside the QR totem

Seasonal beaches

Order from the umbrella, with a QR code. The second round starts at the sunbed, not at the counter.

The problem

Guests order once, and then they stay put.

Guests scan the QR code at their umbrella and order from their phone: no app to download, no sign-up. The order reaches the bar already written, with the row and the umbrella number.

Someone spending the day at a beach usually makes a single trip to the bar: on arrival, or around midday. After that they settle under the umbrella and there they stay. The afternoon coffee, the cold water, the ice cream for the children, the beer at six: they would like them, but it means getting dressed, crossing the beach and queueing at the counter. More often than not, they let it go.

Meanwhile, the staff are walking. Back and forth between the rows to collect requests by voice, back to the bar, the same route again to deliver, and in the meantime someone in the front row has raised a hand without being seen. Miles a day for a number of orders that doesn't grow.

The issue isn't the staff and it isn't the price list: it's that between a guest's craving and your counter lie thirty metres of sand.

Service

One QR per umbrella, and the order arrives with its address.

  1. 01

Every umbrella has its own number

The QR code is tied to the spot: the order reaches the bar with the row and number already written. Whoever delivers doesn't search — they go. The code sits on a black plaque that stands upright on the side table: the QR totem.

  2. 02

The second round, without getting up

It's the spend that doesn't happen today. You don't need one more guest: you need to take the queue away from the same guest.

  3. 03

Staff walk a route that makes sense

Instead of combing the rows, they have a queue of orders with locations in front of them. Delivery goes by zone, not by sight.

  4. 04

    You manage the digital menu

A digital menu with photographs and allergens, in the languages you need. An item that has run out comes off, a price changes: on your own, and without reprinting the QR codes.

Who's on the beach

Season-pass regulars, families, day visitors.

A beach operation doesn't have one kind of guest: it has three, and they order in different ways.

  1. 01

    The regular

Comes every day, knows the staff by name and always has the same umbrella. This is the guest who orders most often in a day, if you make it easy: for them, ordering from their spot becomes a habit within two days.

  2. 02

    The family

Two adults and children under the umbrella, with everything they need arranged around them. Here, getting up is the real cost: ordering from a phone is worth more to them than to anyone else.

  3. 03

    The day visitor

Doesn't know the price list, doesn't know what you offer and won't ask. A menu with photographs, open on their own phone, is the only way they'll discover that you serve lunch too.

Clarity

It isn't beach management software, and it doesn't try to replace it.

Oorders doesn't manage the umbrella map, doesn't take spot bookings, and doesn't handle season passes, beach huts or wristbands. If you use a program for those things, keep using it.

Oorders does the part you're missing today: service and consumption. The order that leaves the sunbed, reaches the bar with the location, and comes back with someone who knows where to go.

It integrates with the property's systems and, if the integration you need doesn't exist yet, it can be built later. Your own case — the program you have, how you use it, what you really need — we discuss in the demo.

A service system is chosen at leisure and proven on opening day, not in July. You tell us how you work; we show you how an order would arrive from the umbrella, on the guest side and at the bar.
